The Public Realm Project included a number of parties. Funded by the Scottish Government Town Centre Fund and West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC), TGP partnered with Civic Engineers and RJ McLeod contractors to work closely with the WDC to deliver the project.
We provided commercial and advisory support throughout, ensuring full transparency and managing change & progress. We provided particular advice relating to the NEC3 Contract which underpinned the project.
NEC3 CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
NEC3 contracts have had a transformative effect on the construction industry, having been used effectively to guide high profile projects such as the London Olympics.
These contracts place collaboration and the sharing of risk and reward central to delivering projects to time, budget and client/community expectation – although the structuring can take a bit of time to get your head around! We also delivered advice and support online via presentation slides and discussion due to works being carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Results
Community consultation drove the design approach of this project. This meant that it was vital that shared desires and aspirations were met. In December 2020, all stakeholders were delighted that the project was completed to deadline and expectation.
The works have had a transformative impact on the town’s aesthetic.
