Quantum Solutions is 15 years old
Why we started
In 2009, the global recession was affecting construction and development in a big way and at the time, our Director Richard Neilson had experienced a period of real challenge and a changing landscape. The Developer Contractor company that Richard was working with at the time was experiencing real difficulties due to the global recession and the impact of funding being stopped on many new residential development projects.
Richard and his commercial team worked tirelessly and professionally to deal with the situation, however, external factors were taking over and Richard wanted to focus on a new opportunity and challenge: setting up Quantum, a modern and forward-thinking Quantity Surveying and Project Management Consultancy.
What was going on when Quantum was formed?
Setting up Quantum at a time of global recession and uncertainty was certainly a risk, however, Richard felt that there was an opportunity to set up and position a different kind of company that was modern and forward-thinking.
Quantity Surveying, historically in construction, has implemented some very traditional methods and approaches.
Quantum wanted to change this perception and create a business that was more modern, professional and innovative, always prepared to look at different solutions to support our clients’ needs.
Why the name Quantum Solutions?
We love our name as it makes so much sense to us!
What does “Quantum” really mean and how does it infiltrate everything we do as a business?
- “discrete quantity of energy” – we’re energised throughout the duration of any project to deliver successful high-quality developments.
- “ a required or allowed amount” – also known as quantum or quantity. When commercially managing projects, we focus on the quantities and cost of the project from start to finish. Modern methods need to be set up to control this effectively.
- Quantum comes from Latin, meaning “an amount” or “how much?” If something is quantifiable, then it can be measured.
- A Quantum adjective is “Large, significant, a Quantum improvement” – we strive to always make a significant improvement with everything we do, which in turn provides a high-quality service to our client.
- And “Solutions” is what we’re all about! When we’re presented with a challenge, we always work collaboratively to create the right solution.
What’s behind the branding?
Modern, colourful and something that makes sense. Our branding infiltrates everything we do, our logos, office environment and wellbeing, digital marketing, website and much more!
What we’ve achieved and feel proud of as a company and team
We have achieved so much and are very proud of our journey so far. Some examples of our achievements are:
